Launches AI-based Service 'Opti-Me' which Determines Customized Cosmetics based on Skin Diagnosis

Gowoonsesang Cosmetics has launched the “Opti-Me” service developed by combining skin data for 370,000 customers and artificial intelligence (AI). It is a service which offers skin diagnosis, ingredient analysis of cosmetics scanned by users, and recommendations for customized cosmetics – all within 3 minutes.
 

“Opti-Me” scans the user’s skin to determine the skin type of the user. There are eight skin types in total based on six indicators closely related to skin health. Each indicator is subdivided into 5 steps. The service delivers 15,000 analysis results.Using detailed skin analysis, “Opti-Me” ensures personalized curation for cosmetics and lifestyle suitable to each specific user.
 

It also reads all the product ingredients and whether it is recommended for each skin type. If you take a picture of the cosmetic you want after skin diagnosis, it will tell you all the ingredients of the product, and a match rate showing the degree to which your skin type matches with the scanned product. “Opti-Me” also suggests recommended ingredients and substances you should avoid for your skin type.All this will be done in just 3 minutes.
 

It can read about 3,700 cosmetics sold at Korea’s largest H&B online channel and isnot limited to Gowoonsesang’s brands. Products covered  by “Opti-Me” are skincare, hair care, and body care solutions.The number of products is to be updated periodically. A “Request for Adding Products” feature will enhance customer convenience. You can use the “Opti-Me” service which is available at Dr.G Shopping Mall and on the Dr.G App. Dr.G is a derma cosmetic brand owned by Gowoonsesang Cosmetics. The Dr.GApp can be downloaded from Google Play (Android) and App Store (iOS).
 

Gowoonsesang Cosmetics was established by dermatologist Ahn Geon-Young and launched its representative dermacosmetic brand “Dr.G” in 2003. Under the corporate philosophy “Our Dermatology Makes the World Healthier and More Beautiful”, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics has launched the “EHUB® Campaign” to help the public achieve healthy skin and offered the AI Chatbot “Mentor G”, a free-of-charge 24/7 consulation service for people with skin trouble. We will develop a variety of skin services to provide customers with appropriate advice for their skin issues.
 

“To avoid harming skin with wrong cosmetics, it is important to know your skin type and use products that are right for your skin,” said Lee Joo Ho, CEO of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics. “We hope that everyone can keep their skin healthy with Opti-Me analysis for cosmetics optimized for each customer’s skin with simple skin type diagnosis.”
 

On the other hand, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics will hold the “Skin Health Competition” at Dr.G Shopping Mall as a promotional event for Opti-Me. This campaign will consist of two rounds: in the first round, participants using the ingredient analysis service will receive gift vouchers by lottery; and in the second round donations will be given to the “ChildFund Korea” in the name of the winner selected from “Opti-Me” users. All users will automatically participate in the “Skin Health Sharing Challenge”, a campaign launched by Gowoonsesang Cosmetics for 2 years to help burn patients, in which a certain amount of money is to be donated for each customer when they check their skin health.
