Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, owning the derma cosmetic brand “Dr.G”, announced on June 8 that they will be participating in the “Go-Go Challenge”.
The “Go-Go Challenge” is a zero-plastic in daily life campaign hosted by the Ministry of Environment to reduce plastics and disposable products. This challenge encourages participants to find one “To-Do” and one “Not-To-Do” items in their lives and then nominate others to do the same.
Lee Joo Ho, the vice president of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, was nominated by Ahn Byeong-Jun, who is the representative of Kolmar Korea, global cosmetic ODM company. Vice President Lee nominated Yun Seong-Hun, the vice president of CLIO, and promised to reduce plastic water bottles and increase eco-friendly products and packaging materials together with all employees.
As promised, Gowoonsesang does not provide bottled water for our employees, but instead gives all employees the “Zero Waste Beginner” kit, which includes a tumbler, wooden toothbrush, and stainless steel straw, in collaboration with “MO BETTER WORKS”.
In accordance with the sustainable eco-friendly strategy, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics is participating in environmental conservation. They introduced a non-adhesive carton box without adhesive plastic tape. “R.E.D. Blemish Clear Soothing Active Essence” has recently been revamped to use a metal-free pump to increase the container recyclability. Vegetable soy ink and FCS (Forest Stewardship Council)-certified green materials, currently used in some packaging, will be applied to all product lines.
Encouraging consumers to participate in the “Go-Go Challenge”, the Instagram campaign will run until June 13th. If you leave a comment on how to reduce plastic in your daily life on Dr.G’s Instagram, you could be one of 15 winners who will be selected to receive the Zero-Waste Beginner kit.

In June, a one-month long OliveYoung promotional campaign will be launched by Dr.G, the representative brand of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, for a limited edition of R.E.D. Blemish Clear Soothing Active Essence. This limited edition has packaging material which consumers can use to make a D.I.Y clock, which is made from recycled paper and pulp, such as bamboo and sugar cane.
