Communication with Fansumers for 7 Months, from Skin Health Activities to New Product Development

Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, owner of the derma cosmetic brand “Dr.G”, announced that a fansumer group “Dr.G Stans #1” successfully completed its 7-month long journey.

Gowoonsesang Cosmetics recruited a fansumer group “Dr.G Stans” for direct communication with customers to share the corporate philosophy “Our Dermatology Makes the World Healthier and More Beautiful”. “Dr.G Stans #1” consisting of 20 fansumers who love Dr.G experienced various supporter activities for skin health, including personalized skin care consulting, online skin care sessions, and product demonstrations for the EHUB® campaign, which was launched” to help the public achieve healthy skin with a 3-step daily care routine, i.e. exfoliation, hydration and UV blocking.

They also visited the head office and research center to experience the researcher’s concerns and development process in creating a new dermatology-based product. The most beloved event was engagement in the development of new products supporting the fansumer’s skin concerns. Participants had the opportunity to plan and develop personalized products they need, such as finding points for improvement from formulation to containers, based on their opinions actively collected in skin care research, fairs and interviews.

“Aclear Spot for Face Serum” was jointly developed with Dr.G Stans #1 and the Dr.G Research Center, which is a fluid formulation that can be applied to any spots on the face to troubleshoot various skin issues the participants are suffering from. “Aclear Spot Cure Patch” is a product that was released to provide intensive care for skin troubles in order to broaden consumer’s choice.

“We can listen directly to the voices of customers who love Dr. G with this program. It was held for the first time this year, but owing to our fansumers, we can share the brand value together with consumers,” said Han Sin-Hye, the head of Brand Communication. “We plan to re-open this program in the near future for development based on interaction with customers and for providing what customers really want.”

Dr.G Stans #1 had the opportunity to reflect back on their 7-month long journey in the online closing ceremony held on November 4th. Certificates were presented and outstanding supporters were awarded. With Dr.G Skin Type Test, the skin scores of all participants improved by an average of 9% and a maximum of 21% during this period. Participants will be provided with an opportunity to experience Dr.G’s major new products for the next year.

Meanwhile, Gowoonsesang Cosmetics is striving to ensure more active communication and interaction with customers, such as regular preference surveys. In April, actively reflecting customers’ opinions, they have launched renewed versions of their best-selling products, “R.E.D. Blemish Clear Soothing Active Essence” in a larger container and tube-type “R.E.D. Blemish Clear Soothing Cream”.
