· Joined GowoonSesang Cosmetics as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2014, and grew the company 17 times in 7 years
by reorganizing sales channels and entering overseas markets
· Plans to launch a new brand every year from 2022, starting with Dr. G, and to release 10 brands in 100 countries by 2030

On December 21, GowoonSesang Cosmetics, which owns the derma cosmetic brand “Dr.G”, officially announced that Lee Joo Ho, Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Vice President, has been appointed as the new CEO. Lee will take office on January 1st, 2022 after onboarding procedures.


After graduating from Yonsei University, Lee joined Daelim Corporation, the holding company of Daelim Group (currently DL Group), and built a career over a period of 20 years in various industries such as petrochemicals, IT, and consumer goods. In 2004, he listed a display equipment company, DMS, at the highest IPO price on the KOSDAQ market, and contributed greatly to raising capitalization to fifth place in the market by actively attracting foreign investors.


Lee, who has led successes with a bold innovative spirit and strategic perspective, joined Gowoonsesang Cosmetics in 2014 at the suggestion of Ahn Geon-Young, founder of GWSS. Working as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), he has successfully won a military supply contract, reorganized offline channels, entered overseas markets, and nurtured best-selling products, resulting in a 17-fold increase in business over the past 7 years. In 2018, he received investment from Migros, the largest distribution company in Switzerland, and laid the foundations for entering the European and American markets beyond Asia in the future.


“Based on outstanding decision-making, organizational management, and leadership he has shown over the past 7 years, I expect that he will lead our company into the next stage,” said Ahn, dermatologist and founder of Gowoonsesang Cosmetics.


Ahn will continue to take charge of R&D and staff training along with academic activities, so that Lee can concentrate on business activities.
“We will launch at least one new brand every year in domestic and overseas markets, starting Dr. G, which has grown mainly in CJ Olive Young, the largest H&B store in Korea, and the military service market,” said the new CEO.


Gowoonsesang Cosmetics has been selected as one of the “Best Workplaces in Korea” and the “Best Workplaces in Asia” for 2 consecutive years. The new CEO plans to further develop the company culture to form an environment in which employees can grow together and to lead various in-house programs to nurture experts.
